OCCO kitchen is a culinary project by Chef Mark Steele to introduce a gourmet artisanal approach to everyday Street food favorites.  


Chef Mark Steele started his career on the Canadian east coast where he completed his Culinary degree and attained his Red Seal certification. After working in various renowned kitchens he left the east coast to move west taking on a position with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts gaining experience within 4 & 5 diamond resorts & restaurants. Marks career within Fairmont landed him in the nations capital as Chef de Cuisine at the Chateau Laurier. Since in Ottawa he has held the position as Executive Chef for Hilton Hotels, the Ottawa Marriott & Algonquin College where he can still be found teaching culinary for the School of Hospitality & Tourism. 

He has had many culinary achievements throughout his career including leading a team of chef's to represent Ottawa and to showcase regional cuisine at the coveted James Beard Foundation in Manhattan, Owning a Fine Dining Bistro, Executing multiple head of state dinners including British Royalty and the President of France and multiple Gold Medal wins for National & International Culinary competitions.

Marks and Occo have also been featured on Chopped Canada, Fire Masters and Guy Fieri's Diner Drive Ins and Dives
